המחזור ה-36 בליגה האנגלית המשיך אמש (ראשון) כשבמרכזו קיבלנו את משחק העונה, שפתח לחלוטין את הליגה.
צ'לסי גברה 0:2 על ליברפול משערים של דמבה בה ו-וויליאן, חזרה למירוץ האליפות והחזירה גם את מנצ'סטר סיטי, שגברה 0:2 על קריסטל פאלאס.
הבלוז, שעלו בהרכב חסר מאוד למשחק כחלק מההכנה שלהם למשחק הגומלין מול אתלטיקו מדריד, הצליחו לנצל טעות של סטיבי ג'י, לעלות ליתרון על סף הירידה להפסקה משער של בה ולנצח את המשחק הקריטי.
סיטי הגיעה לסלהרסט פארק למשחק מול פאלאס הלוהטת, שהגיעה עם חמישה ניצחונות רצופים, אך למשמע ההפסד של ליברפול, הצליחה להתעלות לנצח 0:2 משערים של דזקו וטורה, ולחזור גם הם למאבק על התואר.
במשחק נוסף, גברה סנדרלנד 0:4 על קרדיף במשחק תחתית קריטי ועלתה היישר מהמקום האחרון אל המקום ה-17, מעל הקו האדום. החתולים השחורים נמצאים בתקופה מצויינת ולמרות שבילו את כל העונה מתחת לקו האדום, יכולים עוד להינצל ולהשלים קאמבק ענק.
